Trompe l'oeil
Trompe l'oeil murals
are paintings, usually on a wall (or floor, ceiling etc.) that
when viewed from a certain place, should deceive the viewer into
thinking it is real. In short Trompe l'oeil is French for "trick
the eye".
Frank's Pool House
Mural

I wanted to match
the border around the mural to make it look like it was part of
the pool houses structure.

A true "Dukes
of Hazzard" Fan

How's this for a Dukes
of Hazzard fan/collector. Jerry keeps me hopping with different
projects. I tell him I can paint anything as long as I can drive
the General!!!

The sky/clouds and
all the wall lettering were painted directly on the surface. The
sign is actually a real sign cut out and hand painted also. We
mounted the sign out about 6 inches from the wall to give it that
3-D effect so that when the lights hit the wall/sign it gives
a real shadow.

These are plain white
doors that you would find at any home improvement store. I painted
them to look like the surrounding corrugated metal that was used
on the walls.

This page I wanted to show some of
my wall murals that I have had the pleasure to do over the years.
Like RV Murals, these are on top of my list of favorites to paint.
These are great in businesses, but are also great in homes!

The following pictures show work
that is still in progress. The owners had a plain white concrete
block wall with 3 doors and 2 windows. They wanted something different.
So I painted shutters around the doors and windows and added light
posts and some structure posts to simulate that there is a balcony
for a make believe second story in which I added another door
( in the above picture you can see the reflection of a real chandeler
in the painted door). We will be adding a small steel ornamental
gate/fence to the balcony for added effect in the near future.

You can see the painted shutters
in these pictures along with the structure posts and also lights.
Check out the shadowing.

This is the beginning of the back wall of the arena.
Started as a flat white concrete wall. I airbrushed all of the
red bricks and painted the door ways with shutters.

This last picture was my first
wall mural painted next to a pool in an enclosed room.
